Splinter Cell Double Agent revisited

I’ve noticed an increased number of people that find my blog by searching for the term ‘Splinter Cell Double Agent crashes’ and then end up at this post.

There are a few things you can do in that case if you’re on the 360 version:

1. If you have a crash and reboot the 360, leave it turned off for a few mins.

2. Clear the cache when booting the title. Do that by pressing and holding the A button down from the moment it loads until you reach the press START screen.

3. Don’t open your Guide or Friends List during a cutscene/loading screen or when a lot is happening on screen.

Hope that helps. Personally I found clearing my cache every time I booted it up did a huge difference in the amount of crashes.

Ja, ich weiss. Toll, oder? ;)

    Never crashed for me…

And so the tale of my invincible 360 lives on, I suppose :D

  4. Posted November 15, 2006 at 5:08 am | Permalink

Well, I’ve had loads of problems. So seem to have the 70 odd people that searched for it and found my blog. Strange…

But again, how much have you actually played it? I haven’t seen you on it for days. :P

  5. Posted November 15, 2006 at 5:10 am | Permalink

Erm, 2 missions, but I spent hours on each of them!!!!!11!!!!11!!!11!!1!!!!1!1

    And some multiplayer.

I’d have played more if you were available to play, but no :(

    Oh well :)

  6. Posted November 15, 2006 at 5:11 am | Permalink

And now I have Gears, so I don’t know how much playtime SC will get

Getting UT 2k4, BF1942, and Resi Evil 4 in the mail soon too.. so yeah.. not much time for SC.

  7. Posted November 15, 2006 at 5:15 am | Permalink

Yeah well, didn’t you tell me you’d died many times on the first mission? :P

Multiplayer? You played it once, maybe twice and that one time I was in a room with 5 others. Don’t you dare blame this on me, Mr Matt!

Are you still scared of F.E.A.R. btw? :P

  8. Posted November 15, 2006 at 6:03 am | Permalink

Hey, hey, hey now, don’t be calling me a noob saying I died on that sort-of-easy-not-really-actually-pretty-hard first mission, I only died 52 times, so there.

The training missions were much tougher I’ll have you know :-p

Nah I played the multiplayer more like 3 times, and I know I asked you more then once!

And uhh.. yeah, I think most people are scared of fear, hence it being called fear, it’s usually something taht scares you.. How silly a question, Cat :-D

Oh wait – you mean the game? Well, haven’t played it since Friday. But the book is still giving me the jitters even though I finished it. There’s something about mannequins with 6 hands that scare me.

Ok, ok, I’m feeling guilty now. :( Sorry, I didn’t play the mutliplayer with you. Would you like to play SC at some point? :D

    52 times? :P

Now that book sounds like I have to read it. Might have to read it after finishing ‘The Face’.

Yeah it was great but over too quickly..

But Koontz did a great job of making you feel bad for the people who deserve feeling bad for and he thought up some downright WEIRD things, like the mannequins… The last 20 pages had a lot of action that you wouldn’t expect, either.

I suggest getting it from a library or something.

And yeah I’d be up for some SC sometime.. I’m not sure when though, maybe over the weekend if you’re free :-)

Yes 52 times the same number as there are cards in a deck one for every person who got trapped in a card I feel bad for them poor kings queens jacks aces and little numbers :-(

  11. Posted November 15, 2006 at 9:41 pm | Permalink

Ok, the mannequins are definitely intriguing me. Might see if my local charity shop has it, that’s where I get all my books from. dean Koontz generally has a lot of action in the last bit of his books, it’s what they build themselves up for.

52 times… Didn’t you play on easy as well? :P

Well, it all depends on my internet really. I can’t play during the evening, as our connection is still capped. But it should be sorted by the weekend. I hope.

  12. Posted November 15, 2006 at 10:09 pm | Permalink

Oh yeah, I forgot about your internet being capped.

And yeah, I did play on easy, and I died 52 times on the first level. Damn ghost kept telling the people where I was I swear! Anyway, I’m proud of it. Got a problem with that? :-p

Yeah.. the mannequins are very disturbing and perverse when you actually read it. I doubt you’ll find it at a charity shop though, it came out at the very beginning of the year..

  13. Posted November 15, 2006 at 10:18 pm | Permalink

Well, once my net is back up, I’ll play some games with you. Promise. :D

Nice tip on crashing,Cat. I didn’t know about clearing the cache. My 360 froze on me couple of times but i supposed that the 360 was overheated.
Thanks for the tip.It will do good for Gears Of War.I heard is an Xbox killer.

  19. Posted November 16, 2006 at 5:33 pm | Permalink

No problems. Yeah, clearing the cache every now and then makes a huge difference to me. Once you’ve done that, the loading times will increase when you go into a level, but that’s only for the first time.

  20. Posted November 17, 2006 at 10:46 am | Permalink

My only loading problem in SCDA was loading a save or trying to save. It took such a long time do do it.

  21. Posted November 17, 2006 at 3:40 pm | Permalink

The loading wasn’t too bad, but the saving was. Sometimes it took about 1 minute for me just to save. I couldn’t understand it.

    Can we stop Enricas death?

  23. Posted January 9, 2007 at 10:45 pm | Permalink

It’s been a few months since I’ve played it.

Erm, I think you can if you don’t blame her with the computer codes. But you will lose a lot of trust with the JBA.

If I find the guy who released this, Im gonna kill him. And if his ‘friends fam,ily pets’ dont hurry up and fix it Im gonna kill them two. Id love to say this game is great cuase it looks.. great but thats all I can say,. as long as I dont use a computer terminal, go to the menu access live… Um use any vision mode. Its a great game other wise it crashes. I guess we might as well give up, Ubisoft has obviously sold out and should now just become part of EA

Who needs a working Game we have great graphics, enough money to buy good reviews and marketing presence.

What, ‘gamers’ who the hell are they ?
