After properly playing the Rainbow Six demo I’ve slightly changed my opinion since the weekend.

I am absolutely loving this demo now. I’ve just been playing it for the last maybe 4 hours and I’m really loving it.

Terrorist mode is just so unpredictable, as enemies can be anywhere. Change the difficulty to realistic and they flank you or even rappel down behind you. You’ve got to cover all angles. Walk up to a door and maybe they’ll open it or not. They AI is just so intelligent. Not in one of the many games have I found their rediactions boring or predictable.

Attack and Defend is great as well and again with the many different entry/exit points of the level, it just doesn’t feel the same each time it’s played.

Overall I was a bit put off initially as the controls felt awkward and there were boxes that I couldn’t take cover behind and the graphics are a bit less impressive compared to the single player. But now, I have to say it doesn’t matter to me any more. The controls work fine and they just ‘feel right’. The graphics are good, glass shattering, doors blowing up. The sound is great with grenades blowing up and terrorists’ random shouting. That was especially funny at one point when we were in the vault, opened a door and both us and the terrorists went: ‘Shit, they’re in there.’ Fucking quality. :D

Customisation is great, from appearance to armour which depending on what is chosen influences gameplay. For example overall armour will protect you longer, but also hinder your movement. The different weapons influence the playing style; my favourite weapon at the moment is the M8. It’s a fairly powerful Assault rifle with a decent scope.

I really cannot wait for the full game. This is gonna be great and I’m really looking forward to getting into it. :D
