TwitLight is a Twitter Spotlight posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Also have a look at all the previous TwitLights and you are more than welcome to take part, too!
I would like you all to meet @ingridf, the latest participant of TwitLight! I first came across her via @akaSylvia [who will be on TwitLight next week!] several months ago. She has a great blog that you should definitely have a look at and she’s done some random videos, including this beautifully told story.
Say Hi to @ingridf!
1. Where are you from?
Ottawa, Canada
2. How old are you?
Old enough to know better.
3. What do you do for a living?
I write.
4. What does your alias/nickname mean and how did you come up with it?
It is totally non-creative. It is my first name and the initial of my last name.
5. What do you want to be when you grow up and has that changed at all since you were little?
I don’t think I’ll ever know. I want to be happy. I want to be creative. I want my life to be meaningful. And I want to play a lot. I think that’s what I hoped for when I was little.
6. What song are you thinking about right now?
Uh. I wasn’t. But now that you ask… “Hometown Glory” by Adele.
7. Do you have a Last.fm profile?
No.
8. What are you reading at the moment? [Book, magazine, website, Wikipedia article..]
Three balconies by Bruce J Friedman.
9. Which video game are you playing these days and is it as good as you thought it would be? [provided you play video games that is!]
Haven’t played one in a long time. Am afraid of the time suck.
10. What is the weather like at the moment?
Rainy.
11. What are your plans for the rest of the day?
Tension: I start a new job tomorrow.
12. If you could replace anyone in any TV show, who would you pick?
If I could *be* them, you mean? I would be the character Lisa Kuddy from House.
13. If you had the chance to work on the Enterprise [Star Trek ship!], what job would you have?
Bartender.
14. Seeing that I’m a grumpy person in the morning I’ve realised I can’t live with people that are overly happy as soon as they wake up. Would you be a good flatmate?
Excellent.
15. What is the best website you’ve come across recently?
(It’s more about this specific video than it is the website)
16. How long have you been on Twitter for and when did you realise you were sucked in by it?
About a year. When I met @lannagirl @elibrody @wolfgang @akasylvia and then, happily @carocat. :)
17. Settle this question for me: PC or Mac?
I don’t care.
18. And another one: ice cream or cake?
Cheese.
19. Fill this out however you want: “Today I am ____ and I ____, but ____, because ____.”
Today I am happy and I am tired, but also stressed, because I get tense easily.
20. What do you want everyone to know about you, who are you, what makes you tick? [aka describe yourself]
I’m awesome. Kidding. I’m driven by new experiences and moments in time that catch me off guard.
I don’t do well with prolonged routine. In fact it makes me crazy. But throw something new and unexpected at me and I’m happy as a clam. (If clams are happy. That’s something I’ve wondered about. Not frequently, but sometimes.)
21. What is the last thing that you’ve felt proud about?
My improv performance on Friday. I had *so much* fun. And it was a wonderful thing to make people laugh. Really amazing.
22. If I wanted to stalk you on the internet where would I have to go? Feel free to mention any of your sites/projects/accounts here:
My blog – ice cream is nice cream.
23. Any more comments?
I am constantly surprised and thrilled by the amazingly cool, diverse, kind and thoughtful people I meet online. It really blows me away.
I wonder if we are just more open to each other, maybe more vulnerable than when you meet people in real life. It’s almost like we lay our preferences and wishes bare more easily when we can’t see each other. This makes me both sad but also happy about the freeing thing that goes on online. It also makes me worry that too much of my life has become an online one.
Thank you, Ingrid! :)

Stop stealing my favourite contacts! I’m kidding. Neat stuff, I’m enjoying this series!
Thanks! And well, how could I pass up such nice people?! ;)
