I’m feeling elated at the moment having finally finished a knitting project for the first time in weeks or maybe even months. It was yet another scarf [will post the pattern and pictures at some time], but it’s made me think. The only reason I’ve not knitted so much in the past months is not just my new job, but predominantly that I’ve been procrastinating a lot. And going out. But mainly procrastinating.
As such I have made a New Year’s Resolution which I believe is going to be the first one ever! I will finish a knitting project for every week of 2011 with the following rules:
- 52 weeks – 52 knitting projects.
- Any item, any size.
- All that matters is that it wasn’t started before 2011.
- Items belonging together cannot be used separately, as such a pair of wristwarmers would only count as one item.
- Squares for my blanket project count as one item.
- I am allowed to cheat.
I think the last one is the most important one. I am allowed to cheat. By this I mean that I can build up weeks or catch up and I will consider this resolution a success as long as I complete at least 52 knitting projects in 2011.
Can it be done? I think it can!

I love the last rule! I am hoping for the first time ever to begin knitting in 2011. It seems so daunting, but I really want to try!

Definitely try it.
There are many online resources to help you, like theknitwitch on Youtube.
Good Luck!
