I’m still trying to do more reading and with an English exam coming up, as well as a lot of unread books at home what could possibly be better than buying books, right?
A few years ago I read several Donna Leon novels and liked them a lot. They are set in Venice which is one of my favourite towns and have an immensely likeable protagonist in the form of Commissario Guido Brunetti. Donna Leon has written a lot of books since I last looked into her and the full list is:
- Death at La Fenice
- Death in a Strange Country
- Dressed for Death (The Anonymous Venetian)
- Death and Judgment (A Venetian Reckoning)
- Acqua Alta
- Quietly in Their Sleep (A Death of Faith)
- A Noble Radiance
- Fatal Remedies
- Friends in High Places
- A Sea of Troubles
- Wilful Behaviour
- Uniform Justice
- Doctored Evidence
- Blood From a Stone
- Through a Glass, Darkly
- Suffer the Little Children
- The Girl of His Dreams
- About Face
- A Question of Belief
- Drawing Conclusions
I did actually add them all to my basket just to realise that the shipping cost of Amazon Marketplace would far outweigh the actual prices of the books. My final was Items: £2.19 plus Postage & Packing: £53.78.
I managed to cut it down to just the first four books plus ‘Through a Glass, Darkly’ which is one of the set books for the CAE exam this year.
The rest, however, has been added to my Amazon wishlist. *hint*
