Venice inspired weekend

I’ve still not blogged about this week’s Venice trip which is mainly due to my pictures being worse than I expected. I’ve tried looking through them and editing the ones I’ve got to make them bearable, but about 3/4s of them just aren’t all that. The ones I have started posting can be found over [...]

The snood

I went to Venice and I bought a snood. Sure, lots of other great things happened, too, but the snood has changed things. I had been looking at knitting one before, but never really saw the point in them until it was almost too cold to bear it. The one I bought from a random [...]

In prison

Yesterday I went to prison or rather a former prison. I was in the Palazzo delle Prigioni in Venice to see a concert. It included opera performances from Rossini, Chopin and others and, particularly with the setting, was beautiful. Venice, however, is very, very cold.

Venice

Today I’m off to Venice for two days with a friend which was a rather sudden decision a week ago. We’re planning to: Go to a classical concert with an opera since which is booked for tonight. Go to the Santa Maria della Salute church. Go to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. Go to [...]

#CatisNOTonacoach

Earlier this evening an old tweet I had sent on the 9th of January via text message was published on Twitter: In Brussels with a full on cold. Incredibly unpleasant drivers, too. #Catisonacoach I can confirm that I am not currently on a coach and haven’t been since the 14th of January. Thanks to both [...]

A spur of the moment holiday!

I entirely blame my housemates for this. It all started early today afternoon when one of my housemates mentioned going on holiday and we then thought we should go on holidays together which led to two of us looking for cheap deals to Amsterdam, then Madeira, Marrakesh, Venice and other places in April. Come early [...]

Is gaming a chore?

I’ve gotten out of gaming in the past and I’ve in the past often had periods during which I didn’t game though they were mostly down to not having a 360. I got Skyrim on the PC [well, my laptop] since the week of its release and have not played it at all this year. [...]

#CatIsOnACoach again

It’s the eve before my trip to Germany and I’m anxious, as always. I’m anxious in both parts for the actual trip [yet again not really a social trip] and having to spend the time on the coach. This isn’t the first time I’ve travelled great distances and I’ve blogged about it before here and [...]

Coach travel etiquette

I went to Exeter to see a friend today and it involves three lengthy coach journeys: Reading -> Exeter Exeter -> Heathrow Heathrow -> Reading I left Reading this morning at 9.20am and won’t be back until 11.00pm. Most of that time is spent on travelling – nine hours stuck on coaches! (Let’s not mention the [...]

A long awaited picture

I lost a bunch of items back in 2008 which meant I didn’t have any more images from my mum. With the relationship to my stepdad as it is, I only got a new picture on this week’s trip to Germany. I’m planning to have it printed on canvas and to also have several others [...]

Things I would like

This isn’t a new year’s resolution and it’s probably a quite #firstworldproblems kind of post. It all comes down to wanting to change things without changing too much and at the same time trying to take charge of life I guess rather than months passing by without me barely noticing. Or maybe not change, but [...]

Photo library

Sorting out all the photos I have taken has been an ongoing project of mine for close to two years and I’ve blogged about it several times before. And, as of a few days ago, I’ve actually finished it! All of my photos are stored on my laptop in Dropbox folders which is one overall [...]

Sheffield

This week I spent a couple of days in Sheffield which was more of a neccessity rather than a trip for the sake of going on a trip. Still, no one can say I didn’t do a bit of sightseeing whilst there!

And the return

As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I was on a brief trip back home. And brief it was indeed as I spent less than 27 hours off the coach in Germany, yet still managed to get a lot done. For some reason none of my tweets through Friday got posted and they’re taken from [...]

A trip back home

It has been a while since I’ve taking a trip, any kind of trip and I’m not counting the three trips I had to make to London to sort out my passport! People of Twitter & #rdg: When do I need to leave Reading to be at London Victoria via public transport at 7pm tonight? [...]

To do list..

I have an incredibly bad memory, so bad that I need to write everything down. My laptop is usually covered with post-it notes, I use @rtm and Laterloop many times a day and I always tend to have a notepad open to quickly save links and snippets in. I star emails and RSS feeds that [...]

My Twitter updates from Spain so far

Success! My usual tactic of complimenting the check in woman worked. No extra charge for the 11kg too heavy luggage! 6:37 AM yesterday LOL! This is the third time in my life a plane boarding’s been delayed due to missing cabin crew! Has this ever happened to anyone else? 7:50 AM yesterday Boarding plane. Can’t [...]

And I’ve still not looked up Den Haag library!

The following is a list of Tweets I’ve made on a bus trip from England to Germany in May 2008. Not very exciting, pretty random, but even reading that brings back memories! What happens if you miss a plane and need to be somewhere at a certain time? You look for alternative means of travel. [...]
