I’ve went to the Barbican to see the young musicians of the year play and it was terrific. That was about 20 years ago though ;) Great venue from what I remember.

Just a quick comment: farmaround are a well established company, I used them in 1995 when I live in South London, and they were just starting there. I was happy with their food. I’ve not used them since, but I’ve not seen bad comments about them online (I searched farmaround + forum to find any posts about them).
I have to agree though that their website is awful, I could not believe how bad it is!

I was a great fan of Enid Blyton as a child. One story that sticks in my memory is ‘Mr Galliano’s Circus’. I can’t really remember why it was so special, I think I’ll need to track it down and read it as an adult.

Daniel wrote his courtesy book at the beginning of the 13th Century with some superb practical advice – some jolly sensible (‘Do not hunt for fleas on your arms or bosom in front of the patron or in front of the servants in the hall’) and some frankly poorly thought through (Don’t attack your enemy while he’s on the toilet). Perhaps it is just me. When we were watching that episode of Poirot I pointed this out to my housemates – all native English speakers – who agreed with me.

I have had similar replies to yours on Twitter so I am thinking it’s perhaps something about the English language I haven’t quite delved in as much yet.
