The downside of structure

This post was meant to go live yesterday, but I had some difficulties posting.

There was a point yesterday where I found myself with nothing to do and almost didn’t know what to do with myself. I had just finished work and had narrowly missed several friends in town. So I went to see Narnia which turned out to be ok, but nothing special before heading to a friend’s house for christmas tree decoration and knitting.

I think the main reason I felt a bit at a loss last night was because my life’s been so structured lately. Almost too structured maybe. I now work in a normal 9-5 job which is a bit of a change as I hadn’t done that since summer 2008. I am also going out a lot to boardgaming nights, Reading Tweetups, as well as all the other ongoing things.

This week is looking like another crazy one. In addition to working all of this week, including both days this weekend, I am also working all of the coming week. In the evenings I have this planned:

And whilst I’m planning to stay in tonight, I have this incredible urge to go out. Perhaps I’m rebelling against all the structure in my life?

I think its great to keep socializing, albeit daily. It might look s lot, but it’s just coz you have a steady daily job. Otherwise it would have been fine. Enjoy life :)

You’ve always struck me as a quite balanced person, between work and social life. You sound busy to me!

    Thanks, Kiran.

Muse, there’s actually more to this, but I don’t feel like this is appropriate for the internet any more. :(
